Made of steel and wood
Catalogue no. 716

Well-made spoon with wooden handle, brass ferrule and oval bowl 6.5 cm in length. Manufactured in England by C. ASH & SONS and used to heat copper amalgam for filling children's teeth. Spoon may have been donated by a private practitioner to the Australian College of Dentistry, but is more likely to have come from the original collection of the Odontological Society of Victoria.
